Vande Bharat Express: This French company will now make parts for sleeper Vande Bharat Express, government gave a contract of Rs 1,285 crore

The Government of India has given the contract to French company Alstom (Alstom) to make premiere -semi -high speed train sleeper Vande India. The company gave this information on Tuesday. The company has received a contract of Rs 1,285 crore from the government. Under this contract, the company will supply MitRac traction components and other electrical equipment for 17 Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Sets.

This contract between the government and the company also includes tractions and other main electrical equipment care (maintenance) work. This maintenance and support service will be provided for five years, which will be done at different railway depots in India after the warranty is over.

Alstom said in its statement that the device will be installed in 24-cooked sleeper train sets. These Vande India will be based on the train platform, designed to run at a maximum speed of 180 km/h and 160 km/h. The company will supply this system to the Indian Railways’ Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.

Alstom India managing director Olivier Loison said in his statement, “Alstom has the largest component portfolio in the railway industry. This portfolio has developed from the decades experience of giving railway technology worldwide. ”

In India, Alstom already has engineering and industrial units. The company’s unit is working in Savali (Bogi), Coimbatore and Maneja (Bogi and Traction Equipment). According to the statement, the work of this contract will be done on the Maneja site. Prototype (first sample) delivery is expected to begin by August 2026. After this, the serial production will start in 2027.

Vande Bharat Express, earlier known as Train 18, is a semi-high speed train of Indian Railways. It is completely the first train to be designed and manufactured in India. Vande Bharat Express travels at an average speed of 160 km/h, making it one of the fastest trains in India.
