Government’s big bet on India post, new preparation to boost rural growth

Budget 2025: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the budget 2025-26 in Parliament today, said that India Post will be reorganized to make the rural economy a catalist. Under this, 1.5 lakh rural post offices, 2.4 lakh postal servants and India Post Payment Bank will play the major role.

He informed that India Post will now contribute significantly to rural development by expanding its services. Many new services will be started for this, including services such as community hub co-location, institutional account services, DBT payments, cash out and EMI pickup in rural areas. In addition, micro enterprises will also be expanded to credit services, insurance covers and assisted digital services, so that rural communities can be economically empowered.

Finance Minister Sitharaman said that India Post would be converted as a large public logistics organization. This change will meet the growing needs of Vishwakarma Scheme, new entrepreneurs, women, self-help groups, MSMEs and big business organizations.

He also said that the services of India Post Payment Bank will be further expanded and strengthened to the village-countryside, so that its reach in rural areas can be strengthened.

Great news for MSME and Startups, increase in credit guarantee cover

In the General Budget 2025-26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a big gift for small business (MSME) and startups. The credit guarantee cover limit for MSME has now been increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore. That is, now the government will guarantee loans up to Rs 10 crore, so that small and medium entrepreneurs will get finance from Asani.

With this major decision, the MSME sector is expected to get additional loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the next 5 years, which can make their growth even faster. At the same time, giving relief for startups, the government has increased the limit of credit guarantee cover from Rs 10 crore to Rs 20 crore. This means that startups will get the benefit of more funding and they will be able to expand their business strategy on a big scale.

Government announces treasures, new scheme and Makhana Board for farmers

The government has taken a big step to shine the fate of the farmers. Announcing the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, the Finance Minister said that this scheme will be implemented in collecting in collaboration with the state governments in 100 districts of the country. These will be the districts where agricultural productivity is relatively low. This scheme will directly benefit 1.7 crore farmers.

Not only this, there is good news for the Makhana farmers of Bihar. The Finance Minister has announced to form the Makhana Board, which aim to support the farmers who cultivate Makhane and promote their productivity. This will not only increase Makhana production, but will also improve the income of farmers.
