Reliance Industries, ITC and JSW on Wednesday announced a large -scale investment in West Bengal while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee committed her government to create a favorable environment of industrial growth and business. All these announcements were made in the ‘Bengal Global Trade Summit’ (BGBS) 2025.
Through this conference, the state government is active towards attracting investment in various fields and strengthening the economic situation of the state. Addressing the conference, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that his company would invest Rs 50,000 crore in the state by the end of this decade. Ambani said, ‘Our investment in Bengal has increased by 20 times in less than a decade and we have invested more than Rs 50,000 crore. We will double this investment by the end of this decade. Our investment will be connected to many areas including digital services, green energy and retail.
Several other important announcements were also made at the summit. These include the unveiling of a global excellence of ITC for Artificial Integration (AI) in the New Town area of Kolkata. The Chief Minister inaugurated this center online. ITC Chairman and Managing Director Sanjeev Puri, while referring to the possibilities of Bengal for investment in hospitality sector, said that the company expands its presence in the state Will continue.
JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal also announced an investment of Rs 16,000 crore to develop a 1,600 MW power project in Salboni, Bengal. He said that the company is planning to double its ability with investment in the future in addition to this scale. Addressing the investors and industrialists who came to the conference, the Chief Minister of West Bengal announced the formation of a new state-level coordination committee for ease of business in Bengal.
