Budget 2025: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2025 on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Indian stock markets will also function normally on this day.
Stock market will remain open
National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have issued circulars stating that the markets will remain open at normal time on February 1. Usually the markets are closed on Saturday and Sunday, but there will be live trading in the market on the budget day. Trading timings in the stock market will be from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm.
When and where to see the budget?
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the budget speech in Parliament on February 1 at 11 am. This will be his eighth budget speech, which includes six annual budgets and two interim budgets.
The budget speech will be telecast live on government channels like Sansad TV and Doordarshan. Apart from this, it can also be watched live on the YouTube channel of Sansad TV and Doordarshan.
Where to get budget documents?
Budget documents will be completely digital. These documents can be read in both Hindi and English languages through Union Budget Mobile App. Apart from this, detailed information related to the budget will be available on the official website www.indiabudget.gov.in.
When will the Halwa ceremony take place?
Now only one week is left for the presentation of the budget for the financial year 2025-26. During this period, budget preparations are being finalized. Under this, it will be organized on Friday, January 24.
The Halwa ceremony is an important pre-Budget tradition, in which “Halwa” is served to the officials and staff preparing the Budget documents. This ritual marks the beginning of the lock-in period for employees involved in budget preparations.
After the Halwa ceremony, officials and staff involved in budget preparations will be kept under special security. To ensure that no information related to the budget becomes public, they are kept away from outside contact.
