Auto Retail Sales: The wedding season increased the auto industry in January, FADA released data

Retail sales of vehicles in the country rose 7% annually to 22,91,621 units in January 2025. The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) gave this information on Thursday. In January 2024, these sales were 21,49,117 units.

Positive growth seen in every category

FADA President CS Vigneshwar said, “According to our observation, every vehicle segment such as 2-wheeler, 3-wheeler, passenger vehicle (PV), tractor and commercial vehicles (CV) has seen positive growth. This indicates increasing confidence and stable market recovery of consumers. ”

Retail sales of passenger vehicles rose 16% to 4,65,920 units in January in January. The growing demand of customers has played a big role in this growth. Vigneshwar said that many dealers have mentioned the demand and the huge discount of last year, which helped the older models sell and transfer the registration.

Sale of two -wheelers gained 4%

Last month, retail sales of two -wheelers were 15,25,862 units, which was 14,65,039 units in January 2023. This is an increase of 4%. Sales in urban areas were faster and a 5% increase was recorded on an annual basis, while in rural areas it was low.

Dealers reported that new models, marriage demand and better financeing have played an important role in increasing sales. The stock of vehicles is better than before. The level of the store has come down by about 5 days to 50-55 days now. It shows balance between supply and demand.

Sales of commercial vehicles and tractors increased

Commercial vehicles sales increased by 8% to 99,425 units in January. Tractor sales increased by 5% to 93,381 units and three -wheelers’ sales increased by 7% to 1,07,033 units. However, the dealers are concerned with the increase in interest rates, the cash problem in rural areas and the uncertainty of the market.

FADA has said that the start of 2025 has been positive for the automobile retail. However, dealers are moving forward with vigilance in February.
46% of dealers involved in a recent survey in Fada hope that sales will increase this month. At the same time, 43% of dealers believe that sales will remain stable, while 11% of dealers are expected to fall.

FADA says that dealers are taking care of the market’s current status and are keeping an eye on demand trends in different segments.
